USC Annenberg Hosts 33rd Annual Kenneth Owler Smith Symposium on Public Relations

The 33rd Kenneth Owler Smith Symposium, USC Annenberg’s annual overview of the public relations industry, will be on Thursday, April 20 from 6-7:30 p.m. PT. This year’s theme is “New Reputation,” and the gathering will involve a discussion on the evolution of corporate reputation and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG).

The program includes:
• Vincent Stanley, Patagonia’s in-house philosopher and co-author of its corporate story, “The Responsible Company,” in conversation with a journalist guest.
• Fred Cook, director of the USC Annenberg Center for Public Relations and chairman emeritus at Golin, will share results of USC’s 8th annual Global Communication Report.
A panel discussion led by moderator Chris Deri, chief corporate affairs officer at Weber Shandwick. Chris and his guests — Catherine Frymark, executive vice president, corporate communications at Mattel and Jonathan Adeshek, chief communications officer at IBM — will talk about the future of corporate reputation.

The program will begin promptly at 6 p.m. PT, followed by Q&A.

A reception for USC Annenberg students and alumni and PRSA and IABC guests will be held at 4:30 p.m. PT in the Annenberg Forum. Food and beverages will be provided. RSVP is required.
